Canvas is the story of a young boy growing up with a mother who has schizophrenia. The film is based on on the experiences of the film's US writer/ director Joseph Greco, whose own mother had schizophrenia.
Greco will travel to Wellington for the screening, to be held at the Duxton Hotel, Wellington at 7pm Friday 5 August.
Both film and panel discussion will be open to all those attending the National Mental Illness Summit, Schizophrenia Research Conference and SF New Zealand AGM.
Set in South Africa, Oil on Water tells the story of a young artist who has schizophrenia, his struggle with his illness, and the effect it has on the lives of those who love and care for him.
